Meet the Artist 
This creative and highly motivated, balloon Artist started her journey into the balloon industry in 1990. In 2003 she closed her gift shop and became a full time decorator. In a very short time, Balloons Milwaukee / Pretty Weddings & Events had grown from a retail gift shop to an award-winning balloon decorating company. Carmen has had her work featured on Milwaukee TV and has also been featured in numerous trade publications.
Carmen has received numerous awards for her designs & talents in international competitions.

In 2006 Carmen won eight awards in 6 months, a great honor for her. The awards started at The Special Event Showcase in Milwaukee, where she received the award for "Best Booth Design. She followed that up with two awards at the IBA Balloon Convention, two more at Balloonversity, and finally three at Summer Balloon Camp.

Carmen was asked by the Pioneer company to build a unique piece for Ted & Betty Vlamis. A piece that will celebrate their 40th anniversary, and the 90th year of The Pioneer Balloon Company. 
This sculpture was made for Fox 6 Morning News. Celebrating with ally the cat 50 years of Fox 6 news during Fox Rox.
This dedicated artist not only runs Balloons Milwaukee, produces Balloon-A-Palooza, and runs the American Balloon Association she also has time to teach others at international balloon conventions and seminars.

In 2005 Carmen designed and produced Balloon-A-Palooza, a new community balloon art exhibit that was attended by over nine thousand people. The proceeds from the event benefit The County Parks to help save the parks and kid's programs. It is built by many artists and volunteers who have different skill levels. The week long event is hands-on and gives beginners the chance to learn the techniques to frame and build large sculptures. At the same time, it allows the more advanced attendants to create and put their skills to use.
This Coral reef a unique Artex sculptures which was created with uninflated balloons was made for Balloon-a-Palooza 2006 and is currently displayed at the excutive offices of Betallic Balloon Company.
In 2006 the attendance grew to over 12,000 people and used over 110,000 balloons. There were hundreds of fantasy flowers and many Artex sculptures (sculptures made with un-inflated balloons), using special techniques developed by Carmen, that contained from 500 to 1,000 balloons each.

Carmen also runs the American Balloon Association a business resource center for balloon artists, balloon retailers and entertainers. Her goal is to not only help people become better artists, but also
become good business people. She helps others start their own business with marketing ideas, designs and education. The website includes a live forum/chat where balloon artists can discuss products, designs and ideas.
Carmen Ballering had the opportunity to build a unique pieces for Elizabeth Arden Inc, As part of the launching of the perume Fantasy by Bridney Spears. She was asked to build an 8' bottle like the original one.
